Dr John Hall (Chairman) Location - Bromsgrove [Registered Medical Practitioner] Qualified in Birmingham in 1977 – initially trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics he has been a full-time GP in Bromsgrove since 1983. He has been actively involved in immediate medical care in H&W since 1981, he was one of the founding BASICS doctors in the region and has been to many hundreds of emergencies in support of the local community. John a long history of supporting the ambulance service being involved in the very first paramedic training programs. He holds an Honorary Lecturer’s post in Emergency Care at Birmingham University. - Examiner for DIMC RSC Ed
Professor Sir Keith Porter Location - North Worcestershire [Registered Medical Practitioner] Originally appointed Consultant Trauma Surgeon at the Birmingham Accident Hospital in 1986, Keith has many years of trauma experience. Professor Porter is now Senior Trauma Surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham. He is the Medical Director of the West Midlands Central Accident Resuscitation (CARE) team and actively involved in both the delivery of pre-hospital care and education within the whole region including Herefordshire and Worcestershire. He has published numerous books on pre-hospital care. - Examiner for DIMC RSC Ed
Mr Andrew Thurgood Location - North Worcestershire [Registered Nurse + Paramedic] Qualified as a registered nurse in the RAMC in 1990 and as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (A&E) in 1997. Honorary Senior Lecturer for Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. Instructor on many pre-hospital courses, teaching nationally and internationally. Andrew is a Consultant Nurse and qualified independent prescriber. He works from portfolio. In 2002 he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal for his voluntary work with the emergency services. - Examiner for DIMC RSC Ed
Dr Malcolm Russell Location - Hereford [Registered Medical Practitioner] Malcolm trained as a GP and has been a BASICS doctor for 11 years. Before moving to Hereford, He has extensive experience in pre-hospital care in a wide variety of environments world-wide and believes passionately in the importance of delivering high quality pre-hospital care as part of an integrated team. Malcolm is a qualified HEMS Doctor. - Examiner for DIMC RSC Ed
